Sun Mar 14:
🎶 I just want to be your lover girrrrrrrl. I just want to rock your worrrrrrrld. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oooh. 🎶
So [yesterday], after André went to the bathroom, I went to check his room. No gummies nowhere! Around 10:30 pm, I decided to ask him for the gummies … I open his door and peek in, “André, can I get a pack of gummies.” He’s already wrapped up in his sleeping bag, so I’m kinda whispering.

“I don’t have them.”
“What do you mean you don’t have them!”
“I threw them in the garbage.”
“Seriously!” I wanna cry. This can’t be true.
“Yes. And if I still had them, what makes you think I’d give you a pack.”
Who the fuck is this guy?
“You threw them out for real?” Now I’m dying inside. Tears are welling up in the pits of my eyes.
“Yes. Plus they tasted bad.”
“No they didn’t!” We argued about the flavour of the gummies for a sec.
“I can’t believe you did that! If gummies don’t materialize right now, I’m gonna kick and scream and throw shit.”
I waited … No gummies. I kicked his chair; it was the closest thing to my feet. Then I started slapping his legs and pulling on his sleeping bag. I don’t recall screaming and throwing shit, but I was so out of my mind with grief; who knows how far it went.
“No, Mom. Please. I just want to go to bed.”
“Fine. Goodnight.” He goes back to fix himself. On my way out the door, I turn around and say, “I love you.”
“Love you too mom.”
I returned to my room and cried.
You know how I will rant sometimes about free speech vs responsible and accountable speech – I don’t understand why the Canadian Government wouldn’t want to put restrictions on political misinformation during election periods. Especially with what we’ve seen happen in the US and other countries where their democratic process was interfered with. Your right to free speech shouldn’t be protected if you are saying something wrong. Now, I know, some might say, “who are you to tell me what I’m saying is wrong!?” To that I say …
I’m the reputable, educated, fact-checking muthafucka, who’s ready to buss your head wide open with my trusty AxeHammer of Truth. That’s who I am. Ready for a pounding? It’ll be your last.
Sam
I mean, I talk about things I don’t know, but I also make it clear (I hope) that I don’t know. My opinions aren’t always fully formed or informed, but I’m not leading a country, I don’t own a newspaper or TV station, or have tons of followers on social media sites and I’m not spouting hate of any kind – unless you count my violent outbursts, like the quote above, as hate. I feel like, the more people you can reach, the more critical it is to ensure your/the information is accurate. I think I could easily draw an AxeHammer.
People can still engage in discourse, but what is the point of having a debate on misinformation. For example, if I tell you a blatant untruth, ” Did you know, little, tiny people are running around inside your computer and mobile devices? Every time you hit ‘send,’ they are responsible for getting your message through to the recipient. Whenever messages don’t get to their destination, it’s because someone had an accident on the information highway. When messages take forever to show up, it’s because some guys are on foot, others are on a bicycle, some have motorbikes or cars, and still, others have Formula One type transportation. When you send one message to ten people, you have no control over who’s gonna pick up each message packet and get it to its destination; this is why some people get messages faster than others. Believe it, cause it’s true and I know cause I used to work in the factories and I saw them putting the tiny folks, sometimes entire families, into the devices!”
Now, this is easy for you to disprove, but what about lies that aren’t so obvious? What about people who genuinely believe what they’re saying is true? Whether it’s politics or otherwise. I just wish people would rely on reputable sources for information.
Oh BTW – Yes! I know choosing a phone because it has extraordinarily super cool cases may be a bit idiotic, but that is definitely a criterion. But it’s not my only one. I really love the customizability of my Pixel – I can change the fonts, the shape of the app icons, colors, grid size and I love that cause I get tired of looking at the same shapes and lettering, so it’s nice to switch it up. I want to be able to change the inside and outside look of my phone. I noticed that the iPhone 12 Pro Max still uses a lighting port – I read that they didn’t upgrade to USB-C because they are focusing on wireless charging, this just means I have to buy the Mag-whatever. Why wouldn’t you give me a Mag charger with the phone, instead of a stupid lightning-to-usb-c cord? (I’ll take that cord and strangle you!) One article said that, there’s an entire ecosystem around Apple, and these companies make their money by creating and selling Apple accessories and Apple makes money from these guys as well, so it’s really not in their best interest to change things too quickly – Feel free to Google it if you want to read for yourself. Follow the money and you’ll get your reason why, in most cases.
I went swimming/diving and caught an octopus, sea cucumber, and a bunch of other sea creatures I’d never sea (hehe) before. I donated them to the RainbowSun Museum. I wish I could swim for real. I start, then stop, then start, then stop, then sta … I think now that I don’t have to worry about my hair I will take lessons this summer. Swimming in the ocean is not the same as swimming in a pool, there are no waves in a pool, I could barely find my footing and keep myself upright in the ocean. It was scary.
Lastly for today … My dad got his second COVID vaccine yesterday and my iPad is still in Buffalo, NY, US – it hasn’t moved all weekend. But at least the delivery date hasn’t changed.
