Morning wake up song: You’ve Got A Way by Shania Twain

Going to the office gave me a morning routine that I haven’t been able to reclaim fully since the pandemic started. I’d get up, train. Then, when on the train I would do my language (Duolingo) and brain (Lumosity) lessons then read for a bit. Then grab my coffee from Starbucks and settle in at my desk until maybe twoish, then I start bugging Jer cause I’d get restless! It was funny, I was most productive in the morning and evening. His protime was in the afternoon, so I had to restrain myself from interrupting him.

Did I ever tell you about the guy that used to come into the office with two venti sized coffees – this was years ago when I worked at IBM supporting laptops and servers! One in each hand and he’d finish them before lunch! And one time a dude got fired but for whatever reason he didn’t want to get escorted out by security so he made a mad dash for the stairs and they were chasing him – it was a big commotion! We never saw him again, and btw, he was missing a lot of his teeth!

Surprise! Surprise! I got to see Glowbee today. I jumped on a call with my boss and his camera was already on and she was sitting in her high chair chillin like a badass with her cap backwards and arms folded; b-boy swag! Her one year anniversary on the planet is coming up this Saturday!

I like LOVE helping people do positive, proactive shit! Applying design thinking to problem solving is fun – it really makes you think … like you’re slowing down and being thoughtful instead of just rushing to a solution that may not suit the people you’re solving the problem for. I’m still learning to use it but so far, I’m enjoying the process.

We had spam and potato salad and kimchi for dinner. And the boys had some kind of weird ginger ale chugging/burping contest – I didn’t stay for that!

I’ve almost phased out OneNote for Asana – I am saving myself an extra step this way. I can record my meeting notes and create follow up items for myself and others (eventually).

Today I’m wondering if you can change your natural 3F response. For example, if you naturally freeze, can you change that to fight or flight?
