Sun May 23:
I was all bummed this morning cause I thought it was Monday.
@artpens – Thank you for your support 🙂
I have this book, I bought many several years ago 642 Things to Write About and since 2016, every time I look to write about one of those 642 things, nothing appeals to me. Ever! Some of the prompts help me to come up with ideas even though I don’t write directly for the prompt. Maybe that is why I still have the book.
My artwork is flat – I hope soon to bring the same experimental approach to drawing that I do to writing. Imagine me experimenting 🙂 Maybe I cannot experiment because I don’t know enough. It’s not like I can draw greatly yet, I’m still in art preschool, not university. I spent part of the day looking at drawings from different artist trying to figure out a look that I like. I seem to gravitate towards scribbles. They call it scribble art on the web but I don’t know if that’s what it really is. Am I being impatient? Dee said I’ve already gotten better but I have issues with light sources and knowing where to shade and how much and that’s the stuff that brings depth (I spelled debt at first, then I was like … wait! that’s not right. smh)
I started a poem and then I got all confused – it was supposed to be a simple haiku about summer then it started going all over the place. I didn’t know what I wanted to say anymore so I stopped. Sometimes I go where the words take me, but the words didn’t even know where they wanted to go today. I wrote twenty-eight words. There’s a poem in there somewhere. lol. I’ll revisit soon.
I think I am going to get myself a scrapbook. Technically, I guess I could draw in my little black book but that book is for writing not drawing (heavy sigh). It’s my book, I can do whatever I want but I still won’t draw in it. ugh! If I do I will tell you.
Fireworks are loud! In case you didn’t already know. Did you hear about the ultramarathoners who died in China?

Austin Kleon’s “Show Your Work” is great also!
