Life and Meh – Q2ish

Wed Jun 30:

Happy Canada Day! (it’s already midnight ) Today I realized that I have two full time jobs – lucky for me, both are rewarding. Please know that I am not talking about being a mom – that ship has left the marina.

This week after work I have mostly been working on my stop motion stuff. When my fingers get tired from wire twisting, I clean up and switch to arting and in between all of that a line for my concrete poem, or something else, will pop into my head and I will stop to write it down. So … I’ve been talking about loving learning and the process of creating; during my lunch break I read:

Process is messy … She [the artist] can decide exactly how much or how little of her work and herself she wants to share, and she can be as open about her process as she wants – she can share her sketches and works-in-progress, post pictures of her studio [my studio is my living/dining area 🙂 ], or blog about her influences, inspiration and tools … Share something small everyday.

Show Your Work – By Austin Kleon

I’m ready to start filming now. The set is good enough, although … my characters don’t have fingers or faces but you have your imagination so use it! Right now I don’t know how to put a face on but I remember how to do the fingers. I will improve on things as I go. It’s time to get familiar with the Stop Motion Studio app and moving the actors (hehe) ever-so-slowly. (what! he was sitting now he’s standing! We didn’t even see him get up!)

I will continue to practice and improve/build new sets and hopefully by the end of July I will have the rest of my characters and enough experience to create my first Microburst. There are things we do naturally, but now that I have to manipulate these armatures, I have to think about every movement.

🎶 Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl with red satin in her hair and sparkles every … at the Copa. Copacabana, music and passion was always the fashion. At the Copaaaaa – they fell in love. 🎶

The knick-knack monster looks retarded. I guess it’s alright for monsters to look retarded. I hate it when things don’t turn out like what I see in my head. Worse case I will it will become a sculpture but I haven’t given up on the monster yet – I might only need heavier or bigger/thicker wires.

That thing in the bottom right is the knick-knack monster sculpture

Learn an organization’s culture before working with or for it. Organizational culture is the set of behaviours, norms, attitudes, priorities and beliefs accepted by and within an organization. Cultures vary widely: In some, executives are aloof, while in others they are more accessible. In some, processes and behaviours are ad hoc and quirky, while in other regimentation and predictability are norms. A poor cultural match can not only create discomfort for workers, but can compromise endeavours at a corporate scale – undermining mergers, partnerships and working relationships that are a good match by non-cultural measures.

# 99 of 101 Things I Learned In Business School

I don’t know why, but for some reason, I cannot read the 101 Things book from front to back.

🎶 Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Remember me the one who lived there. For she was just a true love of mine. 🎶 I am not going to the Scarborough Fair, it’s way too late. I am showering and going to bed.
