I am a project manager. I’ve worked in software development organizations for over six years. With my current role, in addition to leading projects, my mandate is to establish a project office. My life at work is all about orchestrating people.
I am the conductor. I have to understand the composition of the business case, ensuring everyone is clear on the vision and expected outcomes. I keep the timing of the project (or try to), by making sure individual resources are tuned in.
I am also the drum major, the cheerleader, the team captain and the coach – which requires internal orchestration.
