Picking flowers in the sky
Jumping from cloud to cloud
I encountered Pigtopus — smelling of kelp and stardust
“You’re just in time for the flower show
Your spider friend Phil is already in the front row”
---
“Hey Phil. I didn’t know you pick sky flowers.”
“Yes I do. Me, Pigtopus and sometimes Goat Baby too.”
“How come you never invite me?”
“Cause you’re always busy writing boring poetry.”
“So sorry.”
---
A light breeze indicated the start of the show
An orchestra of flower rain
Playing petal music as they came
Colours overwhelming the atmosphere
Flowers waltzing and tumbling
gliding by, close enough to tickle my ear
Leaving a fragrant trace
Leading back to their resting space

Taking AI’s suggestion for a “weird animal poetry” tag seriously.
