As I find splendour in the mundane
Dancing feet, tapping to the beat
Smiles from strangers on the street
Brief, yet sweet
I let old, bothersome things go
To notice the wildflowers
Springing from sidewalk cracks
The squirrel with a peanut
"Hey! Where'd you get that!"
And with the birds chirping overhead
I am delighted - I didn't stay in bed
Gratefully, I step away
From the monologue in my head
To scents, sights and ear delights
Releasing, I look forward to the infinite
Taking a break from angry poem mode 😁
