Jun 16 – Journal Entry

BEST NEWS EVER – Peninsula, the Train to Busan sequel, is on its way – July/August release hopefully. Did I tell you I also love zombie movies BTW? 🙂 Most of the time, Korean or foreign films, in general, don’t get released in mainstream theatres. I think that’s changing though. After work, I watched Warning: Do Not Play (2019) Korean movie on Shudder. Gonna watch The Bone Box (2020) when I finish here – also on Shudder.

We had a virtual social event at work – spent about three hours playing games. It was fun! This journal entry is post # 197 🙂 Hooray! I will make 200 by the end of the week.

So I got my disco bulb – major fail. Not the effect I was going for. Damn it! The boys were laughing at me – I was so excited. It’s just mood lighting, and I don’t have any men coming over; what do I need mood lighting for? But I like it. I can leave the switch on and operate it via remote. The red light is cool 🙂 What this means, though, my disco ball is still outstanding. (balls and bulbs are two different things – You learn something new every day. lol).

I don’t know how I managed to forget to tell you this – Last weekend André and I went to the grocery store. He decided he wanted to try beef liver but ended up getting beef kidney instead. I am not a fan of organ meat. My mom used to force me to eat liver and I hated it.

Now that I am older, I feel organs shouldn’t be consumed because that’s where waste material gets collected/filtered. If the animal isn’t healthy, all the toxins will accumulate, and that’s what you are eating. I think that’s why it smells so bad when you cook it. Anyway, I was really proud of him, he did the research and prep work, chopping up garlic and onions, etc. I couldn’t help, I have no experience with cooking organ meats. OMG – it smelled soooooo bad when he was cooking it. Once done – he tried but couldn’t eat it. I didn’t touch it, the smell alone turned me off.

André wants to be a sumo wrestler all of a sudden – asking me if I want to practice with him. NO!!!

I woke up this morning to New Attitude by Patti LaBelle – I wonder if I wake up every morning with a song playing in my head. As soon as I opened my eyes, it was there. Must be 80’s dream residue. I love the lyrics – the chorus especially:

I’m feelin’ good from my head to my shoes
Know where I’m goin’ and I know what to do
I’ve tidied up my point of view
I got a new attitude

I’m in control, my worries are few
‘Cause I’ve got love like I never knew
Oo, oo, oo, oo, ooh
I got a new attitude
