May 28 – Journal Entry

Ok so … What’s the point of having CCTV when you can’t see anything anyway? When I watch my true crime shows and the investigator says, “That’s a blue Buick with license plate JBL 323. There you can see our suspect carrying a black duffle bag and putting it in the trunk. We think the victim might be in that bag.”

I’m like, “What the eff! How?” I’m sitting there, looking as hard as I can. Can’t see it. These officers must have superhero vision that allows them to remove all the grainy, pixelated noise from these videos.  

I got to sit in on a pricing strategy session with the execs – It was neat listening to them figure stuff out. Any contracting and strategizing conversations have always been interesting to me.

I was trying to watch Snowpiercer (episodes not the movie) on Netflix and fell asleep on the couch – Whenever that happens, it means I’m severely sleep-deprived. I was in bed by 9:30 pm.  

It rained for most of the day. Before I started work, I sat in the loveseat on my balcony, enjoying my rocket fuel latte and wishing I could see through the glass below the balcony railing. I love to watch people go about their business and make up stories about them.

I started lunch/dinner prep early. I seasoned the oxtail from the day before but made the coleslaw dressing and pickled cucumbers in the morning. Slice your cucumbers however you like and add them to an apple cider vinegar, salt and black pepper mixture. Voila! (the mixture does not have to cover the cucumbers; I just stir it up and let it sit.

With some leftover slices that couldn’t fit in the bowl, I threw them into my water, 700 ml, with about a teaspoon of fresh lime juice. Voila # 2! After about 15 minutes, my water was alive with limey cucumber goodness. I am going to look for other natural ways to spruce up my water. Maybe slices of celery and ginger – that kinda stuff.

Did I tell you that I only have two fish left – DJ and my algae sucker fish? My last guppy died and I caught DJ snacking on him – I don’t know if he killed him. I may have a murderer in my house.
