I didn’t know Amazon had a separate author site, and last week I found another government portal where I gotta upload a PDF copy of my books – completely separate from where I get my ISBNs.
Should I make friends with other indie authors? In the meantime, I created a checklist.
Also, AI is telling me my book is too expensive, but I can’t make my price the same as most other children’s paperback people cause I’m using premium paper and ink – my characters are Black; if I use cheaper options to bring down my printing cost, they’re not gonna look Black anymore.
Even on IngramSpark with the premium settings, Ballet’s skin isn’t as dark as it should be. Next thing you know, my characters are gonna look ashy and my book… trashy (I couldn’t help it.) At least proofs aren’t arriving weird since I learned to flatten the PDF. Hurdle? Jumped!
We’ll see if anybody buys.
