Getting Fired on Friday
Yay Friday!
I’ve received a few new assignments at work. I love creating decks and working with information. Organizing, simplifying, and turning it into something that makes sense on the first read. (that last part needs work). I usually dump everything that’s in my head then I need lots of time to organize/simplify it.
Do I love working with data more than I love working with people? Yes! Because data gets me. When I talk, they understand immediately.
After reading another piece in the Broken Rung series on women and work, I started thinking about how else I can make extra money doing what I love.
Creating presentations is similar to designing posters. It feels the same. Unless my boss is rushing me to get it done faster than a Mission: Impossible message self-destruct. 🙂
I learned yesterday about UX writing. I just completed my first project then promptly got fired:
I would be fine if someone put me in the basement with my books, a laptop, and kick-ass Wi-Fi. With Information for company. Milton, his Stapler and I can have lunch … and sex (stapler included). Sunshine is overrated.

Goodbye Reader, Hello SEO Anxiety
Since I upgraded my site to business, I have these new boxes for SEO and all this other shit I don’t understand. Maybe they were always there, I wasn’t paying attention? Plus now that I don’t have the WP Reader I have to pay attention to headings and gross slugs.
Because now traffic isn’t via reader, I have to intentionally direct it.
Every new thing I encounter is by mistake. Like, “What the hell is this now!?” I need an Explore and Implement plan for making the most of all this extra shit I’m paying for cause I wanted to install one plugin. ugh.
