… “So I said, listen, I don’t care if the white eggs are more expensive. Don’t you bring no fuckin’ brown eggs in this house ever again! You get me!?”
Question of the Day: Do white supremacists eat brown eggs?
As I understand it, whether your eggs are brown or white depends on your chickens, so I guess they’d raise white egg chickens.
How Egg Color Works:
- White eggs come from breeds like Leghorns.
- Brown eggs come from breeds like Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Rocks.
- Blue or green eggs come from breeds like Araucanas and Ameraucanas.
- The pigment is deposited during the egg formation process. White eggs have no pigment, brown eggs get their color from protoporphyrin, and blue eggs get their color from biliverdin.
Fun Fact:
- You can often predict a chicken’s egg color by looking at its earlobes (not its feathers). Chickens with white earlobes usually lay white eggs, while chickens with red earlobes lay brown eggs.
Are you ready for Poetry Month and Easter?
Breaking The News
From the Bunnies Be Damned Movement
This Just In!
Chickens are rounding up Easter Bunnies because they want full control of the holiday. It’s not fair that the media only represents their eggs and yellow baby chicks. What about the Chickens that laid those eggs?
Easter is sexist and ageist. It’s also a racist holiday because baby chickens aren’t just yellow, you know. And what about male Chickens? Where’s their representation?
We will update you as developments develop.
My CBTi session started on Wednesday—five more to go. I learned about how sleep load interacts with your circadian rhythm to help with sleep. It is crucial to have the same sleep/wake times even on weekends, and eating on time also contributes to developing a sleep/wake routine.
This week, I watched Didi (2024) – As you know, I’m an all-day, every-day horror fanatic, but every once in a while, I’ll force myself to watch something different, and this was a great pic(k).
Are you ready for another episode of Hey! Who Said That?
I couldn’t find a good quote for this one, and the book covers so much, so I will give you some general information.
If dude was alive, he’d have a field day with social media. This guy produced his notes while imprisoned by Benito Mussolini’s fascist regime between 1929 and 1935. The book contains some of the most influential Marxist and political theory concepts of the 20th century, particularly regarding hegemony, cultural power, and the role of intellectuals in society.
One of his most significant contributions is his theory of cultural hegemony. He argued that the ruling class maintains power not just through economic means or coercion but by shaping ideology, culture, and public consciousness.
Institutions like schools, churches, media, and cultural organizations subtly reinforce dominant values, making them seem “natural” or “common sense.” This prevents the working class from developing a revolutionary consciousness, as they internalize and accept the status quo.
He distinguishes between traditional intellectuals (scholars, clergy, and philosophers who seem independent but serve the dominant class) and organic intellectuals (those who emerge from and represent a specific class, particularly the working one).
He argued that the proletariat needed its intellectuals to develop and spread counter-hegemonic ideas for fundamental social change to occur. He believed successful revolutionary movements must connect with national culture and history rather than rely purely on class-based rhetoric.
He saw figures like Machiavelli as early examples of thinkers trying to create a “national-popular” movement because he believed that successful revolutionary movements must connect with national culture and history rather than relying purely on class-based rhetoric.
His ideas explain why people accept systems that don’t always benefit them. He showed that power is not just about force—it’s about controlling culture and ideas. He inspired thinkers across fields, from media studies to postmodern philosophy.
Well that’s it for today. I hope you had a good work week.
I’m going to have a chat with Charles Chickens and maybe crack open A Tale of Two Omlets.
It was the best of times for bird flu, but the worst of times for coffee, eggs, and breakfast breads. …Blue, green, white and brown. Scrambled eggs and ham on the ground. Brown, white, green and blue. Would you like some scrambled eggs and chicken foot stew?
Ok I’m done for real this time.
Fri Mar 14 – Would you like the 14 of every month to be Valentine’s (VD).
