Intricate identity long lost
Snow dissipates from rooftops
Roaming away from here
Going who knows where
Like this frosty love affair
Introducing the Senku—a blend of Haiku and Senryu, but this one isn’t funny or ironic like traditional Sens are supposed to be, but I can make shit up as I go, right? There should be a total of 34 syllables (17+17). You can count them and call me out for lying. 🙂
I didn’t do much research to see if something similar existed, but I discovered that Senku, meaning Thousand Skies, is an anime character. I was also thinking about calling it a Haisen, Haiyu or Kuyu.
The other day, I was admiring the remaining snow patterns on the townhouses, and I remembered how, just the other day, I couldn’t see the rooftops. It got me thinking about how we enter relationships as our unique selves; then we blend, then we end, and we’re usually not our first selves anymore.
I wanted to call this, Love Melts into Gross Spring but Before that Everything was Beautiful Like a Fresh Snow Fall. 😆 I sound jaded, but I’m not. Am I? I need to write some happy, funny shit. Stay tuned. In the meantime, I’ll just keep going wherever my creative flow takes me.
