You don’t suck when you’re a holiday! It’s your turn Tuesday!
🎶 Let’s go to the EX oh baby! 🎶 Hope you had a fab long weekend. If you didn’t too bad, cause it’s over.
Finally went on a long overdue artist date. Saturdays seem to work best. I renewed my membership to the ROM and made it to the T-Rex exhibit. It was just okay, informative but underwhelming, with lots of children. Dinos are whatever – them don’t have antlers or sexy horns.
The exhibit would have been way cooler if they had augmented reality dinosaurs. Sick! That shit would have blown my mind.

The better exhibit I didn’t plan on seeing was on the fourth floor, Being and Belonging.
Contemporary Women Artists from the Islamic World and Beyond is a bold exhibition exploring the defining issues of our time from the perspective of 25 women artists from or connected to the broader Islamic world spanning West Africa to Southeast Asia or living in diaspora. Deftly interrogating themes of identity, power, sexuality, and home, this exhibition resists simple stereotypes with outstanding artworks from emerging and well-established artists.

I did lots of eating and sleeping and a little bit of writing.

Hi! I'm Shamus and this poem is called Jesus Christ I Need A Hug My new old lady left me Disaster number three If only My Father was a Pastor Then Sue and I, Shamus, would be close like wall on plaster Me and my new girl Tina Or was it Katherina (An uncomfortably long pause) What's in a name? Anyway ... Me and Kat-Tina We had a bit of a tiff More dramatic than the one in Toronto But my life isn't a movie show One day Tina and Sue got to talking Talkin' 'bout me 'n my ways And they went on for days and days Sue told Rina she'd better beware And asked if she's prepared to care for me the rest of my days "You entitled, lazy, good-for-nothing boor!" Tina yelled at me that, before slamming the door (Another uncomfortable pause with loud sniffles and throat clearing) Am I, Shamus, not entitled to a roof over my bed A place to rest my head A bathroom to brush my teeth Shoes for my feet Clothes! For my back, neck, chest, butt-privates and legs Tissue! To wash away sweat from the heat ... And also possibly sometimes snot and tears Of which I don't wish to speak (more loud sniffling) Well Sue - this is the last time I will cry over you And this is the last poem I will write for/to you On the surface we were close, but deep down who knows Jesus, if you're in the crowd - come up here and shout out loud Tell everyone you're proud of your son Shamus Let them know - With or without Sue, I'm gonna be famous Jesus!? Jesus!? Jesus!? Je ... MC: Shamus! You gotta get off the stage now!
I know I said I’d pronounce the winners of Tyrant # 6, but I don’t feel like it, cause that dive bar poem took up lots of space – on the page and in my head. You gotta wait till Wednesday, and I might also share more ROM art with you.
