The Great Levelling

Poem titled The Great Levelling by Ociola — Planet PU. Over a misty mountain landscape at sunrise, with tree-covered ridges and golden light. The text contrasts human hierarchy with the impartial indifference and beauty of nature, naming larch, hemlock, spruce, and quaking aspens before closing on a moment of peace.

Sterile conversations
In immutable locations

We exist
Inversely proportional
The Worthy and unworthy

Yet … All
At Nature’s mercy

Larch, Hemlock, Spruce
From mountain ridges and tree tops

Although it’s misty
The view isn’t murky

And even as Aspens quake
Peace … washes over me
