Priorities

This morning I sat on the edge of my bed staring at my running shoes with all the wild things in my head screaming, “Sam! Go back to bed!” Today I won! Finished a 1.5hr workout. Later in the day, I went for a walk with Dre. Now all my rings are closed.

Did I ever tell you about the time I tried to plan my days – I was never able to stick to it or get my tasks done on time and eventually, I abandoned the process. Over the last month, I’ve been rethinking and I believe it didn’t work because it was too rigid. This time, I will have chunks with priority activities …

  • My Morning Chunk from 4:00 am to 8:00 am
    • Workout
    • Write
  • Work Day Chunk from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
    • Work work
    • Course work
  • Day End Chunk from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
    • Draw
    • Journal

And there you have it! Maybe I’ll do personal hygiene shit, maybe I won’t. Perhaps I’ll sleep and perhaps, I won’t. So far this feels better than before, when I listed everything I had to do and what time I had to do it by. Let’s see how long this version lasts. Also, I am not good with the food scale, having to get it out and weigh everything every time so I have a new plan for that – execution in progress!

Since I buy frozen vegetables because fresh might get wasted if a few days go by and I don’t want to cook. I decided to portion all of them off by serving size. Now I just grab a bag and I’m good to go. Don’t need the scale every minute and I am sure I’m eating the right amount. Got ya broccoli, ya cauliflower, ya carrots and peas, ya brussel sprouts, and of course, ya okra. I also buy frozen fish and shrimp. The fish is fine as is, I only needed to separate the shrimp. Yay!

Yesterday a family friend drew me a birdhouse.

It’s already 8:30 – I still gotta draw and get to bed before ten in the pee-em. But only because I was doing lots of meal prep work today. OMG I meal prepared – sorta.
