This poem was inspired by a McKinsey article (Google it—To climb to the top, women should focus on skill building). And for the record: I’m skilled, capable, ready to put down stakes. And yeah—I still suck at networking. It’s terrifying.
I recently watched Opus (2025). Ariel had ideas. She did the work. She’s eager to contribute. Her boss? He told her to just take notes. I thought: OMG, that’s literally happening to me.
… If I get invited at all, can you guess what I get invited to do.
