It’s Friday the 20th! Yay!
I’m enjoying my Fridays off! Next week is my birthday. 🙂
Damn Poets
There’s an app I use to kill time, Everyday Puzzles. They have about nine or ten mini-games. It’s not bad, but most of the crossword answers are repetitive. The other day as I played …

Do you remember where you were when you first learned that poems didn’t have to rhyme?
I was taking a course, something outside my major, English, Grammar and Bullshit. Up till then, aside from nursery rhymes, I’d only know roses and violets. I remember being stunned at the revelation – I just sat there for like two days straight.
And by the way, I still suck at grammar and English. TG for Grammerly!
Game On
I’ve been thinking about evolution and how women can protect themselves from late-stage-cave-dwelling, socially cancerous, misogynistic, or mentally diminutive men.
Once upon a time, I thought Teeth (2007) had the right idea. But now, I’ve moved on to a new concept: xenomorph blood. A pre-penetration strike. That’s right. Imagine if women were to shoot acid out of their mouths like cobra venom—a fierce biological response that screams:
NO! DON'T YOU FUCKIN' TOUCH ME!
While I’m fantasizing about alien-inspired countermeasures and a new meaning to the term tit for tat. I know this only addresses the symptoms of a much deeper societal issue. Instead of focusing on how women can defend themselves, we should ask:
- Why do some men feel entitled to women’s bodies without consent?
- What internal narrative allows them to justify their behaviour?
As much as I’d love it to be, the solution isn’t alien venom, or maybe it is, in addition to raising better men, fostering accountability, and dismantling the systems that normalize their behaviour. But knowing humans, this will take generations.
Women,
While we wait for the ability to literally spit acid in defence of ourselves
we’ll do it with words in the meantime. (well, I will, I don't know about you!)
Ready? Let’s go!
Compete Much

Sonnets are still the hardest to write but I got 142 to go. Maybe I will rewrite all of Shakespeare’s sonnets like I did with revive. Also, Dark Princess by W.E.B. Du Bois is in the public domain.
Have a good one.
