Shall I compare thee to a Black Pearl? No!
Thou art more precious and more exceptional
Rough winds cannot break a Black Oak; know
Sun shines from the heart, unconventional
Cooled in deep furrows of the tree’s rough bark
Your pearlescent complexion shall not fade
Nor shall your grace and beauty disembark
(Even shaded,) in a forest of trees, you radiate
Through hardships and sorrows, your shine remains
For all seasons, although you may not see
Let these lines flow through your veins breaking chains
(Blackbird!) Sing loud! Though some may find your tune off-key
Use your lobed leaves to weather every storm
And stay true to yourself — never conform
