Not wanting to asphyxiate
From burning bridges
I bite down hard - tongue severed
Still, you have no regard for the needs of others
Constantly viewing me through your narrow-minded lens
I could give and give and give more even
Regrettably, I recognize
This bridge was faulty from the start
Built with inferior materials
Deficient
Wobbling
On a foundation of silt
Retribution, spite and guilt -
Trips were always rocky
You criticize me
With random jabs
As if we played hockey
Your work is sloppy
I cannot respect your authority
I'm ready to fall into the abyss (bliss)
Knowing greater things will come from this
Alas, some relationships, like bridges
Weren't built to last
