Grateful

Energized by the sun. I run
Through fields of lavender
Larkspur and wildflowers

Kissing tulips, daffodils and irises
I converse with aphids, slugs and snails
Gladly, they share tales of the Universe

By planting my hands in the dirt
In silence, I connect 
Listening to Mother Earth

And when the day winds down
Before the moon and stars blanket me
I sing praises to the sun
