Hello 🙂 In my continued love of everything Japan. I decided to expand my understanding of Japanese poetry.
I’ve since learned that the traditional haiku is more about nature, and is meant to rhyme. Whereas, senryus are about human nature, they don’t have to rhyme but also follow the same 5-7-5 haiku format. I’ve also written a tanka which is a 31 syllable poem with a 5-7-5-7-7 format, used for expressing emotions.
Learning sources: Visits to various sites from Google search results. I forgot to keep track.
