You cannot keep me
By sitting on your reclining throne all day
Surfing social media with nothing to say
You can scroll through on your own time
Not when sharing mine
Watching you, watch your phone
while sitting on your reclining throne
That’s not the play. You’re such a cliche
Far from my idea of an ideal date
I appreciated you, hard working man
You know what they say – about all work and no play
Dull boy! I needed you … to … Keep up
But I know what my weight is worth
So I can’t wait for you to catch up, Buttercup
This relationship’s gone belly-up
I’m not ready to be part of the old and tired club
I don’t know about you, but I got lots of living to carry out
I am about experiencing this life to the fullest – before I checkout
Third-round knockout. Nothing left to fight for
Or, as a matter of fact, to die for
You’re not genuinely interested in me or who I be
I need someone who gets me and my love of variety
Who has interests and hobbies of his own – outside of his phone
Social media drone – unmanned monotonous bee
I’m sitting right here! Can you not see me?
Three months in, and we’re old
Sleeping with our backs to each other – cold
Too tired from working all week to work on me
Us! This! Something’s amiss. We can’t go on like this
I’m not sorry, and you’re dismissed!
Dedicated to That Guy!
