Fine Lines

My biggest challenge is knowing when to let go of unnecessary stress, imagined fears, weight that isn’t mine to carry, and problems that aren’t mine to fix. In the last part of 2025, I’ve done, and will continue to do, a fabulous job of it. Wish me discipline and consistency!

Experiences shape our faces, and we get to choose which ones shape our future. My contribution to this prompt is a poem:

Lines are everywhere
Frowning. Smiling. Laughing
Expressions of muscle movement
Etched into skin
Showing how much
We’ve concentrated
On worrying

Lines are everywhere
But weight is a factor here
Between love and hate
     Reflection and rumination
     Freedom and captivity
     Hope and despair

Line up a lifetime of care
And decide, in this New Year
What not to wear

Wishing you a better, lighter year with the good sense to decide what to leave behind! 🙂
