Little Girl!
Unbothered by the woman you’ll become
On advice, take less than some
With a keen eye on who it’s coming from
Selflessness is not a rule of thumb
Don’t ever try to please everyone
Have ready your Emotion Toolkit
Stay healthy
Self-sufficient, financially fit
It’s good to stand out
Don’t follow the crowd, be a misfit
Keep your circle small
A few friends, close-knit
When you’re old and grey
Be proud to say …
I did it my way
I came across the feature photo this morning by chance; it made me giggle, so I wrote a poem and I decided to call it Brilliant because the little girl on the right has, “I’m a brilliant sister” on her t-shirt. I might do a version for boys.
