In my garden
Among the weeds
I sow unwanted feeling seeds
The dirt is loamy—nutrient-dense
Great for escalating the intense
—ity
Tangled, twisted roots
Flower infuriation
Producing rotten fruits
Detestable figs
Frightful strawberries
Stressed lemons
Bitterness spreads
Covering the ground
Like tenacious ivy
But this garden is pricy
Slowly, I'm realizing the cost
Animals don't play here
My garden
Does not attract
Butterflies or bees
Wrens or chickadees
Hummingbirds do not wish to pollinate
Not wanting to proliferate
Looking plain and ordinary
This garden thrives on what I bury
Its produce is heavy
Too much for me to carry
Looking plain and ordinary
This garden thrives on what I bury
